The ministry said Aminu Bashir Wali was also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The ambassadors’ conference began Monday and was expected to continue until Jan. 9, 2015 under the theme "New Turkey: Continuity and Change in Foreign Policy."
"The visit will enable Turkey and Nigeria to share views on regional and international developments as well as enhance excellent bilateral relations," the statement said.
"The visit will also allow the two countries to enhance international cooperation, particularly within the D-8," the statement added.
The Developing 8 or the D-8 Organization was established in 1997 to promote cooperation between Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
Turkey took over the D-8 presidency at the end of 2014.
