PKK militants opened fire on a minibus on Sunday during a clash with Turkish police which claimed the life of one civilian and injuring two others.
The incident took place in the Turkish town of Gole in Ardahan province. A statement issued by the Ardahan governors office stated that council municipality employees were sent to the town's forestland on July 9 to look into the issue of a water shortage at the water reservoirs. PKK represenatives claimed that rather than fixing the damage, it was council employees who deliberately sabotaged the reservoir.
The statement said also claimed that Turkish began investigation but on Sunday, as the gendarmerie's investigation was continuing, PKK militants opened fire on the soldiers.
During the exchange, a minibus carrying four civilians also hit by PKK gunfire, killing a civilian and injuring two others. The statement did not clarify as to how and why was near the clash.
