Council of the Socialist International is to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy chairman Umut Oran said on Sunday.
The Council meeting will be hosted on November 10-12, Oran said in a written statement.
The latest developments in Syria, gaps in democracy and freedom and Gezi Park protests in Taksim district of Istanbul will be discussed during the gatherings.
The Socialist International is the worldwide organisation of social democratic, socialist and labour parties.
It currently brings together 154 political parties and organisations from all continents.
