Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz Friday stated that it was an exult to take over the term presidency of International Energy Agency (IEA) in November.
Yildiz told reporters that the Agency, located in Paris, was an important platform with members from 30 developed and developing countries.
"International Energy Agency term presidency will be taken over by Turkey in November 2013. This is an exult for Turkey. Thankfully, international activities intensify as Turkey's political stability increases. We will gather with foreign states' energy ministers as well as NGOs. I attend these meetings from time to time, however, this time Turkey will be the moderator," Yildiz said.
Regarding nuclear power plant works in Turkey, Yildiz said, "Turkey will implement the lessons it learned from Chernobyl and Fukushima in the power plants it will build in Akkuyu and Sinop. Turkey will take all necessary measures in terms of occupational safety. I believe, Akkuyu nuclear power plant, to be built with an investment of 22 billion dollars, will be the safest building in Turkey."Last Mod: 26 Nisan 2013, 15:32
