Turkish President Abdullah Gul, one of the founders of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, has rejected claims that he plans to establish another party after his term ends in August.

A statement on official Presidency website in response to a news story on Thursday said: "Our President made his views public regarding this subject many times before, and never considered establishing a new party."

Turkey's Cumhuriyet newspaper wrote on Thursday that Gul said: "We are alienated from the party we founded, only one person's projects started to be realized, instead of all of us."

Turkish electorates will go to polls to elect the country's new president on August 10.

The new president who will be country's first president elected on public vote will serve for a period of 5 years.
