Turkish Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu arrived in the northern African country of Tunisia on Sunday for officials talks.
"We are here to enhance our existing cooperation with Tunisia in the field of health. We will hold talks [with my Tunisian counterpart] on the issues to be handled to contribute to the health system in Tunis," Muezzinoglu told AA.
Stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries, Muezzinoglu noted that they will also review the mutual projects.
"In light of this visit, we aim to take steps in order to strengthen the friendship between Turkey and Tunisia and to improve inter-governmental relations," Turkish minister added.
Tunisian Health Minister Abdellatif Mekki praised Turkey's advances in the field of health in the last decade and stated that they wanted to benefit from Turkey's experiences.
Mehmet Muezzinoglu is also expected to hold talks with Tunisia's Prime Minister Ali el-Urayyid on Monday as part of his Tunisia visit.
