The Turkish General Staff has denied media reports that two more admirals have resigned from the Naval Forces Command, joining another admiral who left his post last week.
Admiral Nusret Güner resigned from the military last Thursday in what was regarded as a show of protest against several court cases that have sent a large number of high-ranking military officers to jail.
After Güner's departure, some media outlets reported that admirals Şevki Şekerefeli and Gündüz Alp Demirus also resigned from their positions.
In a statement posted on its website on Tuesday, the military denied the reports, saying they do not reflect the truth.Last Mod: 29 Ocak 2013, 17:30
