Turkey's family and social policies minister said on Sunday that her ministry had launched initiatives to prevent child abuse.
Fatma Sahin said her ministry had launched initiatives for a new legal arrangement that would prevent every type of child abuse.
"It will be called the 'Law on Countering Child Abuse'," Sahin told AA correspondent in the southeastern province of Gaziantep.
Sahin said several media broadcasts and publications and some internet pages could pose a threat for children, and underlined the need for a legal arrangement.
"We will share it when we prepare a draft on this issue, and submit the bill to the cabinet and parliament," she said.
Sahin also said the government aimed to raise women's participation in employment to 35 percent.
