Turkish main opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu said Friday in a letter addressing to EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy that the EU ought to express its concerns about the recent events in Turkey.

The leader of Republican People's Party (CHP) said current events going on in Turkey such as anti-graft operations and the ongoing debate on the restructuring the judiciary create constraints on Turkish-EU relations.

Kilicdaroglu in his letter put emphasis on the significance of the mutual relations between EU and Turkey, and said "We believe that Turkey is a significant value added for a dynamic, competitive and creative Europe."
