Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan ruled out the possibility that Friday's deadly suicide bombing at the US Embassy in Turkey was linked to the situation in Syria.
"I don't reach the conclusion that this incident is related to Syria," Erdogan said in a televised interview on the private Haberturk channel.
The suicide blast Friday at a checkpoint outside the embassy compound killed the bomber and a security guard while seriously wounding a Turkish woman.
Erdogan said the DHKP-C, an outlawed leftist group in Turkey, was responsible for the attack.
The group is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union.
"We have [the bomber's] name and birth place. But as the premier it is always my principle to speak only after receiving the final result, but I can definitely say that it was the DHKP-C," Erdogan said.Last Mod: 02 Şubat 2013, 09:56
