Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday convened a security summit in İstanbul, one day after US Embassy in Ankara was targeted by a suicide attack.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Interior Minister Muammer Güler, Chief of General Staff Necdet Özel and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan.

The meeting took place at Erdoğan's office in Dolmabahçe Palace although reports say Friday's bomb attack at US Embassy in Ankara was also among the issues discussed during the meeting.
