Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan harshly criticized Syrian President Bashar Assad on Sunday on the civilian massacre in the northwestern Syrian city of Banias.
Speaking at the ruling Justice and Development (AK Party) Party's Consultation Meeting held in Turkish capital Ankara's Kizilcahamam town, Erdogan told his party deputies that they bear the responsibility of more than 250 casualties, mainly children and women, slaughtered and burned at one night in a small Syrian city.
Calling for the attention of his party's organizations to the issue, Erdogan stressed "You should know that each life lost in Syria is our life."
Erdogan stated that they have two choices in the face of this massacre: "To turn away from the world and the victims by ignoring the outrage or say 'enough' to the cries of those suffering by assuming the responsibility laid by history, our ancestors, our nation and the civilization."
"We won't play three monkeys in the face of the earth-shaking cries of the children of Banyas. You Bashar Assad, I swear, you will pay for it," also said Erdogan.Last Mod: 06 Mayıs 2013, 12:13
