Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan weighed in on the results of the election with an emailed statement saying:

"Without a shred of doubt, another important messge that todays results brings is a message to the other opposition parties and the leaders of those parties.

The election results are a message to the second and third runners-up, that their uncompromising attitude and thirst for vengeance as displayed in the June 7 election and the subsequent coalition talks, was not acceptable  by the Turkish people."

Erdoğan also congratulated Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu for his party's stunning victory as well as offering gratitude to the nation for protecting Turkey's future and the goals that have been set for 2023.
