President Abdullah Gül will meet with well-known digital and social media names at the presidential residence, Çankaya Palace, on Tuesday to exchange views on online journalism and social media in Turkey.

Invitees include İsmail Hakkı Polat from the Department of New Media at Kadir Has University, ntvmsnbc.com Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Yeşiltepe, Haber Türk columnist Rahşan Gülşan and Turkish Twitter phenomenon Hakim Türkmen, who is known by his nickname, “beyinsiz adam,” meaning “brainless man.”

In a bid to revive the traditional “Çankaya table,” first established by the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to host people from all walks of life, Gül has invited well-known people from various professions to the presidential palace since being elected president in 2007.
