Preparation for the state visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Turkmenistan scheduled for May 29-31 was discussed at a government meeting in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Turkmen government declared on Saturday.

According to the information, the visit will include Turkmen-Turkish negotiations at the highest level. " The issue of further development of the traditionally friendly dialogue between the two states based on the principles of constructiveness, mutual respect and mutually beneficial full-scale cooperation are o n the agenda," the government's statement says.

The signing of a package of bilateral documents is expected following the visit.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that there were very good prospects for further growth of the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in trade and economy, as well as the diversification of productive business contacts.

Turkish businessmen master more than 1,270 investment projects in Turkmenistan. They include more than 1200 projects worth more than $15 billion and 26 projects worth over two billion euros, 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat and other projects.

Ankara has expressed an interest in delivering the Caspian energy resources to Europe via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey. 

Ashgabat actively involves Turkish companies for the construction of the Caspian Sea resort Avaza, as well as the transport infrastructure, industrial and residential facilities.
