The Turkic American Association (TAA) held an iftar (fast-breaking meal) in Washington on Tuesday.

There was large participation in the iftar meal which was held in honor of ambassadors and mission chiefs in Washington and congress members.

The first Muslim member of the congress Keith Ellison delivered a speech at the iftar. Ellison and other speechmakers conveyed peace and interfaith tolerance messages, mentioning about importance of Ramadan (Muslims' holy month of fasting).
