Residents in the Somali capital of Mogadishu are adjusting to fast internet connection speeds after service providers introduced fibre optic technology to the city last week.
Having previously used dial-up and satellite-link to access the internet, Somalis are now able to browse the internet with connections on par with the rest of the developed world.
BBC's Moalimu Mohammed said that people have been flocking to hotels and internet cafes to try out the fast service.
For some, increased connectivity has allowed them to see social network and sharing websites like Youtube and Facebook for the first time.
The high-speed internet is expected to bring individual communication costs down and benefit communication in and between businesses, government departments and universities.Last Mod: 11 Nisan 2014, 16:49
