A total of 21 terrorist PKK collaborators were detained in the Mt. Cudi area in the southeastern Sirnak province, the Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

According to the statement, searches in the area also resulted in the seizure of many weapons, including two pistols, six shotguns, 46 pistol cartridges, an air rifle, and documents belonging to the terrorist group.

The statement also gave information about another operation, in Mt. Kato and the Incebel Mountains, where two PKK hideout caves were spotted and the military set off an improvised explosive.

In another operation in Sirnak's Uludere district, explosives made with 50 kilograms of ammonium nitrate were also destroyed.

Also, in the Kilis province five ISIL members who had illegally entered the country via Syria were taken into custody.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.

At least 319 people have lost their lives in ISIL terror attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bomb, rocket, and gun attacks.

Early last year, in the southern border province of Kilis, 21 people were killed by ISIL rocket attacks.
