Four rocket projectiles fired from Syria fell on a border area in Turkey on Monday, killing one civilian and injuring at least one other in the southeastern Kilis province.
According to local sources left anonymous due to safety concerns, one projectile hit the roof of a house in a residential area in Kilis’ Hakverdi neighborhood. Some residents of the building were reportedly injured.
Another projectile fell in a rural area close to a school in the Yavuz Sultan Selim neighborhood.
The blast initially injured two people: Syrian refugee Kamil Cerruh, 40, and a 14-year-old student, Mehmet Sarıbugday. Cerruh, a shepherd, later succumbed to his wounds at Kilis State Hospital.
The nearby school was evacuated after the blast for security reasons.
Almost an hour before that incident, two other projectiles hit an olive garden and the oxygen depot of Kilis State Hospital in the Kilis province.
