Six soldiers were injured in two separate attacks carried out by PKK in southeastern Turkey on Sunday, according to a military source.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to media, said PKK had attacked security forces with mortar shells in the Cukurca district of Hakkari province, injuring five soldiers.
In a separate attack in the same district, PKK detonated a roadside bomb and injured another soldier.
The injured soldiers were rushed to the Hakkari State Hospital.
An operation was later launched in the region to nab the terrorists.
The PKK -- listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year. Since then, PKK attacks martyred more than 700 security personnel and also claimed the lives of many civilians, including women and children, while nearly 8,000 PKK were killed in army operations.Last Mod: 06 Kasım 2016, 23:14
