 At least eight people were killed and 19 others injured in western Turkey on Saturday when a minibus driver lost control of his vehicle, security officials have said.

The accident occurred when the driver lost control of his vehicle on the brink of a cliff on Afyon highway and toppled over the edge.

The minibus was carrying university students on a trip to Turkey’s central Anatolian province of Eskisehir.

The bodies of those killed in the accident were sent to the morgue after the crime scene investigation.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the prosecutor.
