A bus was overturned on Tuesday on a snowy road in Afyonkarahisar, western Turkey, killing one and injuring 20 passengers.

The accident took place in Afyonkarahisar-Konya street, near Sultandagi district, authorities said.

A woman injured in the accident lost her life in Afyonkarahisar State hospital, while four of the 20 injured passengers remain in critical condition, hospital sources told The Anadolu Agency.

Ice and snowy weather has swept Turkey since last week, with governors closing down schools in many provinces for most of last week and the beginning of this week.
