49 people were held hostage in the Turkish Mosul Consulate in Iraq and one of them is an eight months old infant, Ela, who is the daughter of an officer at the consulate.
The father of the baby has worked as an IT specialist for three years in the Turkish consulate in Mosul. He called his close relatives informing them that the consulate had been raided and that the insurgents cut communication lines there.
Along with Ela and her family, another officer's child who isn't even a year old was also held hostage by the ISIL.
In total there were 49 people being held hostage including Turkish consul general Ozturk Yilmaz, 30 special forces police, and 18 workers along with their families.
