El-Saharty was informed about Turkey’s discomfort caused by "groundless claims" consisting of allegations by Egyptian authorities, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
The sources also said the Egyptian acting ambassador to Turkey was also told that Turkey expects the Egyptian side to put an end to the allegations.
Egyptian officials have claimed that certain TV channels that were established by Egyptians and broadcast in Arabic from Turkey "promote violence" in Egypt.
Relations between Cairo and Ankara soured following the military ouster of elected Mohamed Morsi – Egypt's first freely elected president – in late 2013.
In November 2013, Turkey and Egypt reciprocally downgraded their diplomatic relations to the level of charge d'affaires and recalled their ambassadors from both capitals.
