Turkey toppled China in three sets in a game on Sunday in the Youth World Championship in Girls' Volleyball Championship, winning the first ever world title in its volleyball history.
Turkey emerged undefeated from Group A in the first round in the two-week long championship in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The Turkish team lost only one game against China in the second round of the championship, placing second in Group E to make headway to the semifinals, where they defeated Serbia 3-2.
Previously, the Turkish team's best performance in Youth World Championship in Girls' Volleyball was in 2007 when they placed second in the event in Mexico.
