The banking and holding indices went up 0.55 and 0.42 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices the information technology index showed the best performance with a 1.08 percent hike. Only the construction sector index showed a decline -- falling by 0.07 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 3.8820 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) Monday, compared with Friday's close at 3.8650.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also climbed to 4.5080 from 4.4990 at close on Friday.
Brent crude oil rose to $62.34 per barrel at 9.00 a.m. local time (0600 GMT) compared to $61.34 at Friday's close.
Turkey's benchmark stock index recorded a 3.16 percent weekly increase to close at 111,292.78 points on Friday, compared with the close at 107,884.03 points previous week's end.
