Qatar occupies a high place in Turkey’s foreign economy vision, Turkish economy minister said on Sunday.
Nihat Zeybekci met Qatar’s Minister of Trade and Economy Muhammad Al Thani and businessmen during his visit to the country to attend the Turkey-Qatar Business Forum in the capital, Doha.
He said the trade volume between the two countries was on the rise as Turkish companies had undertaken projects that worth $13.5 billion.
He said both countries had opportunities to maintain cooperation in tourism, health, informatics, movie and education sectors.
On his part, Al Thani said Qatar did not want to be solely dependent on its incomes generated from natural gas and oil.
He said the country’s goal was to secure an economy that could survive without the income from natural resources.
