The TIME magazine named Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan one of the hundred most influential people in the world.
In an annual list of the 100 most influential people of the year, Erdogan was dubbed as "a remarkable leader", who "changed his country for the better by empowering millions of people who had never before participated in their nation's political and economic life."
According to the magazine, the Syrian war and the refugee crisis have both boosted Turkish president's influence in the world.
"Between the war in Syria and the refugee crisis, he’s arguably occupying the most important geopolitical space in the world today. That makes him a valuable Western ally," the TIME said.Last Mod: 22 Nisan 2016, 10:10
