Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at a ceremony marking the completion of the sea section of the TurkStream gas pipeline project on Monday.
The two leaders are set to have a meeting to discuss bilateral relations and current regional and international problems.
The construction of the offshore section of the TurkStream, the pipeline project that will carry Russian gas to Turkey, started in May 2017.
Alternate routes for the second phase of the project that will carry gas to Europe are under evaluation.
