A fire in Russia's Siberian Kemerovo city left 22 people dead and six more wounded, officials said on Saturday.

The fire broke out last night in an illegal nursing home, and quickly spread all over the second floor where the residents lived, the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement.

Kemerovo region Governor Sergey Tsivilev said all establishments of this type will be inspected.

An investigation has been launched.
