Jackie Y. Ying, one of those Muslims who are willing to achieve more and more success in their lives apart from the mentality of our society that consider women weak. Due to the inequality tradition between males and females, women get less attention and opportunities even if they can do much better than a guy. But, by looking deep into Islam, women of today realizes that there are no such hard and fast rules for women to stay in between four walls of their houses. In fact, Islam has given respect and rights to the women. One of the women who realizes this is Jakie Y. Ying.

She attended Raffles Girls’ School, the all time top ranked school of Singapore, where she raised. However, she was born in Taipei in 1996. She moved to New York from Singapore with her family when she was 15. She graduated B.E in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union, New York with a role of honor  in 1987. Later in 1988, she did MA from Princeton University, a private Ivy League research university. At the age of 35 she became the youngest full professor at MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001 after receiving PhD in Chemical Engineering from Princeton in 1988.

Now, professor Ying is providing her services in Singapore  as an Executive Director of IBN, Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, on the Advisory board of society for Biological Engineering and also on the Scientific Advisory Boards of Molecular Frontiers and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Catalysis Center. She has received so many ofresearch awards. She has been recognized as an honory professor at King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), Jilin University (China), Sichuan University (China) and Nanyang Technology University (Singapore).

Not just this but she is also the Editor-in-chief of Nano Today which is an international peer-reviewed academic journal for nanoscience and technology. In other leading journals, she has 340 publications. She also have 150 primary patents most of which have licensed by multinational companies and start-ups. SmartCells Inc, a  company that  she co-founded has developed a feature of auto-regulating the release of Insulin.

For her outstanding work and capabilities she has been awarded with the Mustafa Prize ” Top Scientific Achievement Award” on 24th of December in 2015. Also the top researchers of Islamic Cooperation member state have given $500,000.

This woman with great capacity and experience is an example for all the women who has been degraded over and over again.
