Pakistan will approach Interpol for the extradition of Maulvi Faqir Muhammad, former leader of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as the Pakistani Taliban.
While making a statement to reporters in Islamabad, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik explained that Pakistan will contact Interpol within a short period for the return of the former TPP leader, who is currently in the custody of Afghan intelligence.
In regards to negotiations with the TTP, Malik indicated that the TPP must first lay down their weapons in order for negotiations to happen.
Faqir Muhammad and four others were captured in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan by Afghan security forces last week.
