Turkey’s Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek met his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on Thursday during his attendance of a two-day parliamentary assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries in Baku.
Cicek thanked the Azerbaijan government for its support during the Soma mine incident and underlined the close relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
“We live in a very complicated geographical region. We see how important Turkey-Azerbaijan relations are when considering Syria, Ukraine and the Caucasus’s ongoing instabilities,” Cicek also said.
“Development of our relations is not only important for our region but also important other region’s countries,” Cicek said after the meetings.
In addition, “Europe's energy map will change after our joint projects” said Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Oktay Esedov.
Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) Five Plenary Session, hosted by the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, is being held in Azerbaijan between June 11-13.
